Your smile is important. It’s one of the first things people notice about you. Yada, yada, yah. We’ve all heard the spiel before. We’ve been told all our lives about how your smile affects your physical appearance. But did you know that your smile actually has the power to improve your health?
A new study reports that smiling positively affects your health in ways that you may never have thought possible. The study claims that smiling more can decrease stress, slow your heart rate and even alleviate depression.
The study compared research on smiling thoughout the years including a study published in the Journal of Psychological science that found that people who smile after a stressful activity experienced a reduced heart rate and reduced levels of stress compared to those who do not smile after a stressful task.
This being said, now is the time to flash your smile and improve your health.
Unfortunately, over one-third of Americans report being unsatisfied with their smiles, which means many Americans are missing out on the health benefits of smiling! At Moore Dentistry, we can help you enhance your smile so that you can finally reap those benefits!
Veneers at Moore Dentistry
At Moore Dentistry, we offer veneers to help mask dental flaws including:
- broken teeth
- misshaped teeth
- discolored teeth
- gaps between teeth
- misaligned teeth
- chipped teeth
Veneers are very thin, tooth shaped shells that are designed to attach to the front of an unattractive tooth to immediately restore its physical appearance.
The first visit to our office requires removing a small amount of enamel from the natural tooth to make room for the veneer. Once the enamel is removed, our dentists take molds of your mouth to send to our lab. These molds will be used to custom design your veneers. While you wait for the veneers to be created (this usually takes 2-3 weeks) we place temporary veneers over the natural tooth for protection.
Once the veneers come in from the lab, your temporary veneers will be removed and the permanent veneers will be bonded into place using dental cement. Veneers are a permanent procedure and can last up to 10-15 years if cared for properly.
